Now WordPress is probably One of the best Ideas I’ve seen for making website design and development easy to use. WordPress is a Content Management System (CMS) that allows people to create and manage their website with very little effort. It works as a kindf of Chassis or Skeleton for your website which makes your website a functioning site with the option to add pages and posts. Although it has a very basic look with no features.
However, it allows you to use Templates and Plug-ins so that you can pretty much build anything you want. Whether it be a Stand Alone single page website youre building or a Website for your Business, your own webstore or even your very own Social Media Site, it can all be done by using WordPress. I think this has been such a great invention as it’s open source, so we have Millions of Web Developers Worldwide contributing every day to making the project better all the time. Developers are creating new plug-ins every day.
When I started building Websites Twenty Odd years ago, you had to have a basic knowledge of coding and web design. Most people would use Software such as Microsoft Frontpage or later, Adobe Dreamweaver to compose your website offline before uploading your project to your web provider. Although for pretty basic websites and pages, Microsoft Word would be good enough. But you’d still need to know your way around hosting and have at least some knowledge of coding to tie up all the loose ends and launch your websit3e. Nowadays, thanks to the creation of the WordPress concept in 2003, this is so much simpler and the entire process can be done in just a few minutes and requires No experience or qualifications.

WordPress.org is where you download the WP program and Install it on your website. However, many webhosting providers give you the option of Installing WP directly from your dashboard.
