Healthy Practices for Working Remotely

The Joys of Working Remotely

Do you work remotely? Perhaps you work at home. Or maybe on the move. Working Online Remotely is a convenience that some of us have been doing for a long time. Although we were of course a small minority and the vast proportion of the population went out to work each day to do conventional Jobs. However, since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019 and the subsequent lockdown that followed it, that proportion changed.

Many of you may have experienced Job loss as a result of the pandemic. Businesses collapsing and redundancies prompted many to look online for a solution to their lost Income. Many Offices, through necessity during the lockdown switched over to having their employees work from home on their PCs and Laptops. Of course, this worked so well that most companies stuck with this system long after the pandemic and many still operate the same way today. Were you one of these people?

If you started working from home then, you would have no doubt enjoyed that sense of freedom that remote working brought with it. No need to endure long and tedious journeys through the city on public transport being inflicted by the hustle and bustle, traffic, screaming kids and all the rest of it First thing in the morning and then again in the evening when you can least be bothered with it. At last it was gone. Remember having that new found ability to get up whenever you wanted, work whatever hours you wanted, have a drink, go to the park, play tennis or tiddledywinks, all whenever you felt like doing so. In fact, you could even be travelling the world or lying on a beach and still able to keep up with your work. But without a healthy balance of exercise and fresh air, this freedom could easily become a bind.

Healthy Practices for the Mind & Body

Now, the human body is not naturally evolved to sit staring at a computer all day long. In fact, it’s not really evolved o look at a computer at all. these are very new inventions on the grander scheme of things and our bodies are just not meant for spending wakened hours indoors looking at a screen. That’s why it is critical that we get a healthy balance of exercise, fresh air, variety of sight and even socialising with other human beings does us good sometimes.

Lets Get Physical

Whatever you are doing in your life, it is super important that you keep a healthy balance between the mind and body. Too much mental work and not enough physical exercise will prevent your brain working to it’s full healthy capacity. As well as being extremely unhealthy for yourself, this also reduces productivity and has a much higher chance of you burning out.
